Adamson Muula is a professor of Public Health and Epidemiology at Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (KUHeS), Malawi. His formal education in the arts, science, medicine, public health and epidemiology was obtained from the Flinders University of South Australia in Adelaide, Chancellor College and the College of Medicine (Malawi), Loma Linda University, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and the National Board of Public Health Examiners (United States).

Professor Muula served as a Deputy Dean of Medicine and later Dean of Postgraduate Studies and Research at the College of Medicine of the University of Malawi. He also served in the: College Assessment Committee (as Coordinator), College Appointments and Disciplinary Committee, College Academic Board, Chair of the College’s Research and Publications Committee, the College’s Postgraduate Committee, the College Library Committee, the College’s Professorial Inaugural Lectures as well as being councillor in the UNIMA Council, Board Member of the Medical Council of Malawi and the Pharmacy and Medicine Board of the government of Malawi. He is the current Vice President of the Medical Association of Malawi and President of the East, Central and Southern Africa (ECSA) College of Public Health Physicians. He is Fellow of the Academy of Sciences (Malawi) as well as Fellow of the College of Public Health Physicians for the ECSA.

Prof Muula has authored/co-authored more than 300 peer-reviewed publications in scientific journals. His research grants portfolio between 2012 and 2025 exceeds US$15 million.
